For over three decades Boars Head Restaurant and Tavern has been pleasing the palates of residents and visitors alike of Panama City Beach. Our rustic décor with its high ceilings and plentiful wood accents gives you the feel of an Old English-style tavern. We like to think of our restaurant and tavern as equal parts steakhouse and seafood restaurant.
At Boars Head we know how to prepare Prime Rib – just try one and you’ll agree. We are comfortable stating with absolute certainty that you’ll find our Prime Rib to be exceptional. Our motto “good food, simply prepared” has been our mainstay as we’ve developed our very tasty and eclectic menu. We’re well known for our fantastic steaks and scrumptious seafood; however, we also offer some delicious dishes not often found in other restaurants.

We’re also super proud of our Fried Lobster – as a matter of fact, about 25 years ago we were the originators and it’s become one of our top sellers offered as both an appetizer and entrée. We serve ours with an excellent honey mustard sauce.
We buy only the best, and since we purchase almost all our seafood whole (as opposed to filleted), we can easily determine its freshness and health. And that means we also hand-cut each portion especially for you.
Speaking of specialties, our Grouper dishes are scrumptious. We start with a smaller and more tender Black Grouper. Because of this, we’re positive once you’ve had our Grouper, you’ll have to come back for more.

Boars Head also has a great children’s menu where we’ve included some staple dishes, plus some items like Fried Tilapia to fit more discriminating tastes.
In our Tavern, you can relax and enjoy Happy Hour from 4:30pm – 6:00pm. Oh, and in case you’re wondering – we offer an authentic Black and Tan. If you’ve perused any of the Dismas Hardy series written by John Lescroart, you’ll know exactly what we’re talking about. Ok, so if you’re not familiar with that series, here’s a quick definition from Wiki: Black and Tan is a drink made from a blend of pale ale and a dark beer such as a stout or porter, most often Guinness. But, it’s what it looks like combined (and how it’s done) that makes it so special. So, there’s a bit of trivia for you, on the house.
At Boars Head Restaurant and Tavern we absolutely love to help you celebrate your special occasions. We can accommodate and offer private areas for groups as intimate as 10 and as gregarious as 150. For your smaller party, your guests can order off the menu, and for your larger group, we can help you put together a pre-planned menu. Here’s a closing recommendation: Michael was our server and the blackened prime rib and the venison and quail he recommended were fantastic. Atmosphere was great. We love places with character like this.
