Reconnect. Relax. Rejuvenate.

Home 4 a Day began life in 1945 as a small quaint home in St. Andrews, Florida.  A popular destination in the early 1900s, St. Andrews became known for its wonderful restaurants, shops and the St. Andrews Marina which was and still is home to some of the best charter boat fishing available.  The community thrived for years but slowly lost business as the beach area grew.

St. Andrews was annexed by Panama City in 1927 and in 1997 was added to the St. Andrews inaugural Waterfronts Florida Program which began a series of projects to revitalize the community.  Then in 1989, the Panama City Commission saw its potential and began a plan to invest in St. Andrews and designated it a Community Redevelopment Area (CRA).  These projects have begun the resurgence of St Andrews as a destination.

For years the owners of Home 4 a Day, Lou and Freda, have enjoyed staying at bed and breakfasts throughout the country.  In 2008, they decided to create a place in St. Andrews where visitors could enjoy the charms of a bed and breakfast and the uniqueness of this revitalized area.

Creatively separating their home into two spaces, Freda and Lou spent over 2 years re-inventing the entire place.  What they’ve fashioned for guests is a uniquely elegant and chic Jacuzzi en-suite for couples looking to get away for a day or two. Home 4 a Day also serves well as a retreat for travelers and business professionals.  If you are  looking for something refreshingly different from the typical hotel or condo, you will truly enjoy its privacy, amenities and convenient location.

A covered patio is reserved for guests who wish to sit outside.  You’ll also find his and hers bicycles for those who want to peddle around the quaint neighborhood or make a leisurely trip down to the marina.  There are artsy bike racks in the park and at the marina, if you want to lock the bikes up and explore on foot.  Free parking is available, at Home 4 a Day, if you have a small boat or jet ski and the boat ramp is only 3 blocks away.

Guests have their own private entrance into the cozy sun room that is appointed with a large vintage sofa for lounging and reading, along with tasteful accessories and greenery.  The adjoining en-suite is separated by a set of antique wooden doors.

The en-suite features and amenities include, but are not limited to:
* King size memory foam bed with down and feather topper
* Lots of comfy pillows
* Electric fireplace
* 42” flat screen high definition TV, cable, Blu-ray DVD home theater system
* i-Pod dock and lots of free movies
* 2 Person Jacuzzi tub with a selection of bath salts
* Custom made 2 person Italian porcelain tiled shower
* Electric fireplace
* Complimentary wet bar – spring water, sodas, juice maybe more…
* Bosch beverage brewer for coffee and tea brewed one fresh cup at a time
* Continental breakfast & treats – in your suite to enjoy whenever you like
* WiFi,  a laptop computer, use of a copy machine and even a digital camera
* Small library of books and magazines

Relaxation is what it’s all about at Home 4 a Day.  Hop in the Jacuzzi, have a drink and a snack before going out to explore the area.  When you do decide to venture out, you’re only blocks away from several very popular Panama City restaurants.  Before dinner, sit at the boardwalk gazebo, or in one of the bench swings at the marina and watch the boats come in and enjoy the lovely sunset.  If you’re lucky, you might even catch some dolphins frolicking in the water!  Plus you have Oaks By The Bay Park and its tree lined paths and boardwalk leading to the bay, also recognized as one of the “Great Florida Birding Trails”.

In addition to the many restaurants, there are several shops along Beck Avenue, including a hair salon and spa, coffee and gelato cafes, an art gallery, a funky vintage store, a gift shop, ceramic shop, vinyl record shop, pool and game hall and even a costume store.  For those who are adventurous, there is also a canoe shop where you can rent a canoe or kayak to explore St. Andrews Bay.  We can prepare a picnic for you to take along, if you like.

Lou and Freda really enjoy helping you surprise your special someone for occasions, such as an anniversary, engagement, birthday or maybe no reason at all. Your room is prepared in advance – ready and waiting for the surprise to happen.  Lou is a professional Videographer and is available to shoot your marriage proposal, casual wedding, love story, retirement, conference, seminar, or other event.
